Ceiling Cornice

Our Polystyrene Cornice and Decorative finish products are light weight and easy to install. We pay special attention to the quality of the materials to ensure that it complies to national building standards and regulations as well as performance and overall lifespan. Our polystyrene cornices are made from two different types of materials namely EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) and XPS (extruded polystyrene).

EPS Polystyrene: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a lightweight cellular plastic material consisting of small hollow spherical balls. It is this closed cellular construction that gives EPS its remarkable characteristics. It is widely used in many everyday applications where its light weight, strength, durability, thermal insulation and shock absorption characteristics provide economic, high performance products. EPS is lower in density than XPS but is also lighter and in most instances a cheaper option. We select only the best EPS moulded products to ensure good permanence and stability.

XPS Polystyrene: Extruded polystyrene is made from solid polystyrene crystals. Through a process, these emerge and expands to a foam, is shaped, cooled and trimmed to dimension. This continuous extrusion process results in a unique foam product with a uniform closed-cell structure, a smooth continuous skin, and consistent product qualities, qualities unequalled by other insulation types. Extruded polystyrene has a well-established reputation for long-term reliability and superior resistance to the elemental forces of nature: time, water, cold, heat, and pressure. XPS cut cornice is generally denser than EPS cornice, tends to have less expansion and contraction characteristics and requires less painting. XPS material is a bit smoother than EPS material.
